Coronavirus: Toll tax will not be levied on national highway from today, stop recovery for vehicles engaged in emergency services



In view of the infection of Coronavirus in the country, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced that there will be no temporary toll tax on national highways from Thursday. The information has been given everywhere in this regard.

Those involved in emergency services will get help

The announcement was made by Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday late evening. He said that to ease the work of people engaged in emergency services, tolls will not be taken on national highways temporarily in the country. The Union Minister said that in view of Kovid-19, it is ordered that all toll plazas in the country should be stopped. The Union Minister said that this will help those engaged in the work of emergency services. The minister said that the management of roads and the presence of emergency resources at the toll plaza will remain the same as before.

DPIIT started real-time monitoring

The Department of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on Thursday set up a control room for real-time monitoring of the transportation of essential commodities, delivery of goods during the 21-day lockdown. In a statement issued by DPIIT, if a manufacturer, transporter, distributor, wholesaler or e-commerce company has any problem at the ground level then it can contact the control room. In case of any problem, telephone number + 91 11 23062487 can be contacted from 8 am to 6 pm. Apart from this, a complaint can also be made to the e-mail id dpiit@gov.in of the control room.
