UP: Lockdown Day-11, beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme, will not have to wait for free gas cylinder

Photo: Economic Times   The beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Ujjwala Gas Scheme will not have to wait for the free gas cylinder even during the ongoing lockdown during the Coronavirus infection. The wait for all these is over. The money will be sent to the accounts of all these beneficiaries today. Under the Ujjwala free LPG gas cylinder scheme, now the beneficiary will be given the price of gas. Gas money will be sent to his account. The scheme will be applicable to 14.2 kg cylinders till June 30. From today, the central government will deposit money to buy cylinders in the account of the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme, after which beneficiaries can book their cylinders. The second cylinder will be booked after 15 days. Singh, who continued to oversee the mammoth operations of ensuring that fuel reaches every nook and corner despite bereavement of his father on the day 21-day lockdown was declared, said there is no shortage of any fuel in the country and customers should not resort to the panic booking of LPG refills. "We have mapped demand for all fuel for the entire April and beyond. We have refineries operating at levels enough to meet all of the demand.
